This is an introduction video telling you all about what we will be doing in this course. This is a beginners course and 3D modelling guide on creating a medieval building scene in the all-new Blender 2.8. By enrolling in this course, you will be completing one of the first extended-length courses on Blender 2.8 since its release. We will be continuously working towards building the tavern on the course cover and you will come away with one of your own by completing this course.

We will be setting up our scale and creating the first part of our door. This lesson is designed for complete beginners and will help you get started in Blender 2.8 with ease.

In lesson two, we will be creating the second door, finished with a rounded top this time. As the lesson progresses, it will be increasing in difficulty and I will be showing you all relevant Blender 2.8 shortcuts to get started.

Here, we will be creating the base for the third door. I will also be introducing you to modifiers within Blender 2.8. During this lesson we will also look at creating stone arches.

For this lesson, you will be needing the door reference download file that came with this Blender 2.8 course. We will be using references to quickly create meshes. We will continue to work on the tavern's doors, and part of this lesson will also involve creating their hinges.

In lesson five, we will be creating the door locks using references (same download file as lesson 4). As part of this lesson, we will start using many Blender 2.8 shortcuts to quickly create parts.

This lesson will focus on creating our tavern's door handles. We will also be going over a small introduction to using Blender’s sculpt mode in Blender 2.8.

For this lesson, you will be needing the 20 texture maps that are available to download with this course. We will be covering UV-mapping, marking seams, and adding a basic material to 3D models in Blender 2.8.

For lesson eight, you will be needing the 10 texture maps that are available to download with this course. This lesson will focus on finishing mapping and texturing the doors. We also take a look at the new collections features in Blender 2.8 and we will also go over naming assets correctly.

In lesson nine, we will look at how we can apply hard- and soft-edges to quickly and easily achieve the look we want for our 3D models. We look at different shading methods and at creasing edges in Blender 2.8.

Lesson ten will show you how to create the parts library and streamline your future 3D modelling process. We delve into why its good practice to create separate blender files and just how powerful a tool it can be when navigating through Blender's new Blender 2.8 release.

For lesson eleven, you will be needing the 10 texture maps that are available to download with this course. This lesson will be your complete guide for creating the chimneys. We look at how to hide seams and how to correctly unwrap cylinders in Blender.

For this lesson, you will be needing the 5-texture map download file that came with this course. We will be creating the first four windows for our tavern from start to finish. We will be taking a look at how to create a simple glass material in Blender 2.8.

For lesson thirteen, you will be needing the 10 texture maps that are available to download with this course. We will focus on creating a complex bay window from start to finish. We will look at just what parts will make it appear more realistic and how to optimize them to take up less UV space using Blender tools.

For this lesson, you will be needing the 10-texture map download file that came with this course. We will be creating highly realistic roofs with a relatively low polygon count in Blender 2.8.

In lesson 15, we will be creating a rope clothesline.

In lesson sixteen, we will be creating basic low-poly cloth assets using Blender 2.8. We will also go over how to 'hang them out to dry' – simulating clothes one might find hanging from medieval taverns.

This will be a highly informative lesson where we will create a barrel and a cellar to go along with it using Blender 2.8 new tools.

In this lesson, we will be learning how to create stone supports using extrusion and solidify tools in Blender.

Lesson twenty is a quick lesson on how to create wooden supports and how to achieve correct sizing.

For lesson twenty-one, you will be needing the 10 texture maps and the lion reference that are available to download with this course. We will be creating the lion sign using the Blender knife tool.

Lesson twenty-two will be all about creating the lantern asset. We also look at how to create materials that are see through and also let light through using Blender 2.8's shader mode.

In lesson twenty-three, we will be creating the sewer. We will build a detailed sewer, complete with a stone archway and bars.

In lesson twenty-three.five, we will be creating the Wooden Stairs. We will be using the array modifier to achieve this.

In lesson twenty-four, we will look at putting correct materials on all the meshes of the first wall, stone supports, stairs, floor, and chimneys. We will be using Blender 2.8's in-built addon, node wrangler.

Lesson twenty-five will be the second part of creating materials, stone supports, stairs, floors, and chimneys.

This lesson will be the third part of creating materials, doors, supports, and a wooden lantern.

Lesson twenty-seven will be the fourth part of creating materials and we will be making three roofs.

This lesson will be the fifth part of creating materials and we will be adding the proper materials to the sewer, sign, clothesline, barrel, and cellar.

Lesson twenty-seven will be the sixth part of creating materials and we will be working on the windows.

In lesson thirty, we will begin working on the main build of the scene, and we will be creating the dynamic sky. I will also show you how to save out the parts library in Blender 2.8.

For this lesson, you will be needing the moon reference download file that came with this course. We will be creating a night sky with stars by adding a lot of nodes to the world shader set up in Blender 2.8. I will continue introducing the parts library.

In lesson thirty-two, I will be starting the build and we will be importing the human scale and the parts into the scene.

In lesson thirty-three, the build focus will shift to the first floor of the first building and we will continue developing our tavern.

In this lesson, we will be creating the stone stairs using the array modifier in Blender 2.8.

Lesson thirty-five will focus on creating the second floor of our tavern.

This lesson will follow on from lesson thirty-five and we will be creating the wall for the stone stairs.

Lesson thirty-seven will be about cutting out holes for the windows and sewer system.

In this lesson, we will start working on the second building of our tavern, making the scene look more and more in tune with the medieval era, its architecture and lifestyle.

In lesson thirty-nine, we will be creating the cellar and second floor of second building.

Lesson forty is all about conducting our first lighting test to test out our lanterns. We will also be refining the second floor of building two.

In lesson forty-one, we will start placing the roofs down and start work on our chimney.

For lesson forty-two, you will be needing the 10 texture maps that are available to download with this course. We start building up the rear of the tavern and attach materials to our chimney.

This lesson will be all about finalising the structure layout of our 3D model within the medieval building scene.

In lesson forty-four, we will be cutting the roofs to size using the bisect tool in Blender 2.8.

This lesson is all about showing you how to create the curved roof using the boolean modifier in Blender 2.8.

In lesson forty-six, we will be working on the roof ends to turn them into triangles using the merge function in Blender 2.8.

Here, we will be building up the rear of our 3D building scene, and we will be bringing in the barrels to create a medieval tavern atmosphere.

Lesson forty-eight will be all about creating the archway alley using the boolean modifier, solidify, and by extruding in Blender 2.8.

In lesson forty-nine, we will be tidying up our scene, and finishing the main building off.

This lesson is a complete guide showing you how to create the balcony of your tavern using the boolean modifier to cut it out, and using basic pieces of wood to complete the structure.

In lesson fifty-one, we will be bringing in the clotheslines, and we will work on optimising our build by joining meshes in Blender 2.8.

This lesson is all about creating the roof supports using the existing walls. I will be showing you a good Blender technique and this will help you with other future projects as well.

Building on lesson fifty-two, lesson fifty-three will be about building the curved roof supports using the proportional editing function in Blender 2.8.

This lesson will allow us to finalise naming our build and optimise it by reducing the polygons on roof one.

In lesson fifty-five, we will focus on reducing the polygons of roof two.

In lesson fifty-six, we will be creating the lighting, fixing light probes, and creating a night scene render. We will be setting this up so it can be rendered in either Eevee or Cycles. For the purpose of this course, we will be rendering it in Cycles render, but it is up to you if you decide to opt for Blender 2.8's Eevee render.

In our final lesson, we will be creating a beautiful day scene render. Like before, we will be setting this up so it can be rendered in either Eevee or Cycles.
